WELCOME
Members of U. S.
Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 9-6 perform essential
duties in support roles to the U. S. Coast
Guard. Our duties include non-law enforcement and
non-military roles in search and rescue missions,
boating education, vessel safety checks, marine
safety and environmental protection, and
verification of the condition and location of aids
to navigation. Our Flotilla operates surface
vessels and aircraft to fulfill many of these
duties.
Our Flotilla also supports
the missions of U. S. Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach
and the U. S. Coast Guard Academy's introduction programs
for youth.
Our Flotilla was founded in
1974. We have has more than 100 members who
receive specialized training so we may be a
functional part of the U. S. Coast Guard.
Our Flotilla's area of
operations covers the Gulf waters from Clam Pass north of
Naples to Matanzas Pass at Fort Myers Beach and
adjacent inland bays and rivers. Other
flotillas in Division 9 cover the area roughly from
Tampa Bay to Miami.
Our
Flotilla meets at 7 P.M. on the third Wednesday of
every month at the Wiggins Pass Flotilla Building
located at:
13531 Vanderbilt Drive
Naples, Florida 34110
