Free Vessel Safety Check Program

Picture of the decal verifying an inspection.

At your request, we will perform a free vessel safety check for you. We examine all types of boats, as well as PWCs, kayaks, and canoes.  Our examiners are specially trained to do this work.  Our inspection is an audit of the safety equipment on your vessel.  Only you are told of the results. Our equipment list is usually above and beyond what is required by most state boating laws. If your vessel passes the exam, you will get a decal you can put on your boat. Our examiners will advise you about important safety equipment that will allow you to boat with confidence.

Call our Flotilla vessel exam coordinator, Alan Poyser, 239-594-8009, or email him at alanpoyser@abcxyz.com, to schedule your free safety check. Be sure to include your name, phone number, and the best time to contact you in your email message.

You can also meet us the last Saturday of each month from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Carl Johnson boat ramp on Lover's Key, located on Rte. 865 between Bonita Beach and Fort Myers Beach.

PLEASE REMEMBER!  This is a free courtesy inspection for you, not an enforcement action by us.
